PROJECT TEAMWORK!

I have been so busy working on the Handmademovement.com blog that I haven't had time to work on this one lately.

I'm so excited that all of you finally get to see the wonderful  work Theresa of KraftyGrannysHome.etsy.com did with one of my prints! I love the colors she used. Theresa is one of my team mates on the Handmademovement Team and I had approached her when I had the idea to use my prints on fabric and sell them to quilters and sewers. I figured they could be used as squares for quilts and pillows as well as for wall hangings, handbags or whatever the imagination can devise. Theresa brought all of this to fruition with her wonderful sense of color and fabric coordination. The idea came to me after doing some sew in labels for AtomicPinUpOz.etsy.com (another Handmademovement Team mate) for her dresses. I had some fabric sheets left over and it popped into my head to try my prints on fabric too.

Theresa was the perfect partner & collaborator! She is so talented! Here is the result of her love and labor using these prints from my shop. Wouldn't this look wonderful in any little girls room?

Theresa said "Ros contacted me and asked what I thought about putting her art work into a blanket, I got to choose which of her art work I wanted to use. Since I enjoy making baby quilts I picked her "Mmmmmm Smells Good Mommy" prints, she supplied me with 6 prints, 3 of each of the little girls.
Then it was up to me to pick out the fabric that I felt would highlight these beautiful prints, this was truly a labor of love, I've always loved this art work of Ros's."

And this is the description she wrote of this lovely project.

"This is a OOAK quilt and it couldn't have been done without the help and cooperation of my fellow Etsy artist, Rosella at Painted Memories by Ros. The little girl prints "Mmmmmm Smells Good Mommy" are her original art work she used Miracle Fabric Sheets to produce her prints onto a natural 100% cotton. Once I received the prints I was able to coordinate her prints with fabric that I believed would help set off these wonderful prints.

I used a beautiful yellow floral print to alternate with the little girl prints then I surrounded it with a solid chocolate brown and a solid mint green in the corners, around this I used a dark green floral print and finally the border is a light green with small yellow flowers, the back is a bright yellow print flannel, I used Warm and Natural cotton batting. I have attached a light yellow satin binding, it is machined stitched to front and I hand stitched it to the back.

I machine quilted a free hand daisy to each of the yellow floral prints, I used a meandering stitch around each of the little girl pictures and connecting hearts are quilted around the outer border. This quilt measures 37"x43".

I am including a pillow with this quilt it is 12"x16", the back of the pillow is the same fabric as the ruffle.
Quilt and pillow are machine washable gentle cycle and dry on low heat.
All items in my shop come from a smoke and pet free home."
